Puget Sound Swim Club

Port Orchard's Premier Youth Competitive Swim Club

Welcome to Puget Sound Swim Club!

We’ve Got Team Spirit

Established in 1969, Puget Sound Swim Club (PSSC) is a year-round competitive swim team offering quality professional coaching and technique instruction for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

In addition to a fine coaching staff, PSSC also provides consistent and stable pool time for all our athletes in one of the few long-course pools available year-round in Western Washington.

PSSC is a non-profit, volunteer run 501©3 club and is a member of both USA Swimming and Pacific Northwest Swimming. As a volunteer run club, all members are welcome and encouraged to be involved in all team activities.

We are constantly growing and training young swimmers to maintain a well-rounded competitive swim team. Thank you for joining us. We are looking forward to meeting you. Please feel free to ask another member or coach any question you may have.

Training Information

We have three groups for swimmers with differing levels of experience:

  • Novice - this is our entry-level group and they practice Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 1 hour each day. Costs is $85/month.
  • Juniors - this group practices Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for 1.5 hours each day. Cost is $100/month.
  • Seniors - this is our highest-level group and they practice Monday through Friday for 1.5 hours each day. Cost is $115/month.

What equipment does my swimmer need?

  • Practice suit – many swim stores sell discontinued or solid color suits for a reduced price on a rack called “practice suits”. Having a suit to use at practice rather than the team suit will prolong the life of your team suit. Always rinse suits in tap water after being in the pool to get rid of damaging chlorine.
  • Team suit (for meets) – plain black of any brand/style. It isn’t mandatory to get a team suit – plenty of kids don’t get them.
  • Goggles – These are a must for the comfort of your swimmer’s eyes. Buy a decent pair and write your swimmer’s name on them. An extra pair is a good idea.
  • Cap (silicone or latex) – PSSC Dragon cap
  • Optional items – A bag for carrying towels, fins, and a kickboard are great starting points.  As your swimmer advances, a snorkel and hand paddles are good ideas. At the beginning of the season, when the air temperature or the water temperature is still cool, sweatshirts and sweatpants are recommended. There are team sweatshirts, t-shirts, and a variety of other things available for purchase.

If you'd like to join our team, schedule a tryout.

Our Coaching Staff

Coach Bee

Coach Bee has been the Head Coach of PSSC since 2018.  She is originally from Thailand and has been in the Puget Sound area for over 15 years.  Prior to beginning her coaching career, Coach Bee was a Pacific Northwest (PNS) meet official and water safety instructor.  In 2018, she was named the PNS Development Coach of the Year.  Her coaching philosophy emphasizes proper technique, speed, endurance, sportsmanship and safety while having fun.  She guides swimmers to help and learn from each other along with teaching them to set goals - using short term milestones to achieve long term goals.  Coach Bee is lifeguard certified and teaches swim lessons at Parkwood Community Pool.  She is married and has a son, Christopher, who also competes for PSSC.  Outside of swimming, Coach Bee enjoys paddleboarding, kayaking, squid jigging, crabbing and gardening.

Coach Stefanee

She is married with 3 kids including Grayson, her oldest who also swims for PSSC, Morgan who is working towards joining the team and Evan who entered this world just a few months ago.  In her free time, she enjoys all water sports, hiking, motocross and snowboarding in the winter months.
