Coach Bee - Head Coach

Coach Bee has been the Head Coach of PSSC since 2018.  She is originally from Thailand and has been in the Puget Sound area for over 15 years.  Prior to beginning her coaching career, Coach Bee was a Pacific Northwest (PNS) meet official and water safety instructor.  In 2018, she was named the PNS Development Coach of the Year.  Her coaching philosophy emphasizes proper technique, speed, endurance, sportsmanship and safety while having fun.  She guides swimmers to help and learn from each other along with teaching them to set goals - using short term milestones to achieve long term goals.  Coach Bee is lifeguard certified and teaches swim lessons at Parkwood Community Pool.  She is married and has a son, Christopher, who also competes for PSSC.  Outside of swimming, Coach Bee enjoys paddleboarding, kayaking, squid jigging, crabbing and gardening.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coach Owen - Assistant Coach

Coach Owen grew up in Everett, Washington, as the child of military parents - one in the Navy, the other in the Coast Guard.  They began competitive swimming at the age of six and stayed connected to the sport ever since, even throughout law school and into 2024 as a member of PSSC's Masters team.  Butterfly remains their favorite stroke.

Coach Owen is passionate about helping swimmers build endurance and develop elegant form in a safe and supportive environment.  They believe that goal-setting is fundamental to success and that every swimmer deserves a personalized path toward reaching their full potential.  If a swimmer needs help defining their focus or setting goals, Coach Owen is always happy to help.

They hold a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a focus on law from Oregon State University (Go Beavs) and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law, focusing on criminal law.  Outside the pool, Coach Owen serves as a Deputy Prosecutor with the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and is a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army JAG Reserve Corps.

While they don't have children, they share their home with two beloved dogs: Caseus, a soon to be 6-year old pit bull and a Brienne, a 4-year old Rottweiler.
